Overview

Sapa Hard Trekking ( 3 Days – 4 Nights ) offers tourists comprehensive feel about the chaotic and exotic of rural village life of the ethnic minorities in the North Vietnam. You can immerse in the fabulous landscape with hill tribe villages and terraced rice paddy fields in Sapa. We want to design this tour for you so you can have a chance to to meet local people and they will share you the respect about their cultural life in here.

Itinerary

Night 1: Hanoi Old Quater to the train station

Depart from Hanoi

The tour begins between 06:00 – 08:30 PM with a bus or taxi transfer to the railway station in Hanoi where you will catch the night train to Lao Cai.

Accommodation: Overnight on train to Sapa

 

Day 1 ( night 2 ): Sapa – Lao Chai/Ta Van village  ( B,L,D )

Activities: Have breakfast in Sapa Hotel, speak to locals at Lao Chai Village, experience the culture in Ta Van village and head back to Sapa Town.

Accommodation: Homestay in Dzay village

You will arrive at the Lao Cai Station between 05:00 – 07:30 AM. There you will meet the Sapa bus guide and transfer to Sapa town. After having breakfast and a shower, you will leave your luggage in the luggage storage room to prepare for your trek. You will only need to bring a change of clothing, trekking gear and toiletries for your stay at the village homestay.

At around 09:00 AM you will begin your 12 km trek on small trails down the Muong Hoa Valley towards the Black H’mong village of Lao Chai. The Muong Hoa Valley contains some of the most beautiful views of rice paddy fields in Asia.  After having lunch along the Muong Hoa river in Lao Chai, you will continue along the bottom of the valley to get to the Dzay tribe village of Ta Van to experience their way of life while staying in a local family’s cottage.

 

Day 2 ( night 3 ): Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai – Ban Ho ( B,L,D )

Activities: Have breakfast in Ta Van, meet villagers at Giang Ta Chai and relax in Ban Ho.

Accommodation: Homestay in Tay village

After having breakfast in the village homestay, you will begin your trek to Giang Ta Chai of the Red Dzao tribe. You can experience the difference between the way of life of the different tribes. You will have lunch in the village before you continue your trek through the amazing scenery and to the beautiful waterfall. In the afternoon, you will continue your trip to the Tay tribe village of Ban Ho. You will arrive at a village homestay where you will stay the night with a Tay family and have another authentic dinner.

 

Day 3 ( night 4 ): Ban Ho – Su Pan – Sapa – Hanoi ( B,L,D )

Activities: Have breakfast in Tay village, meet local people at Su Pan village and board your train back to Hanoi

Accommodation: On your train back to Hanoi

After having breakfast in the village homestay, you will trek to Su Pan, the last village you visit on your trip. You will be amongst the terraced rice paddy fields and will have the opportunity for a dip in the river before being picked up for transportation back to Sapa.

When you arrive in Sapa, you will have enough time to freshen up with a shower and have dinner at the Sapa Restaurant before catching the bus back to Lao Cai for the night train to Hanoi. You will arrive in Hanoi between 04:00 – 06:30 AM at the Tran Quy Cap train station.end

Things to bring

  • Warm clothes, scarf, hat, cap because the weather in Sapa is pretty unpredictable. It is normally cold in September, October, November, December, January, February and March
  • Due to altitude of Sapa, it is sometimes foggy in December, January, February and March.
  • Trekking shoes, sun glasses, sun cream, insect repellent are also necessary. You should take cash with you in Vietnam Dong because banking system in Sapa sometimes doesn’t function well. US Dollar, Euro, Australia Dollar are accepted in Sapa.
  • You should take medicine with you in case you get sick in Sapa.
